UX Improvement: New Chat Indicator
Problem:
When I click on new chat the previously selected chat thread is still selected but the screen is different. There is no indicator that I created a new chat thread as shown in the video reference below.

Solution:
When the user clicks on the "New Chat" button, the list adds a "new chat field" and shows that it is selected as shown in the image reference below.
